The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has released the notification for Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025. This recruitment offers an excellent opportunity for postgraduate and NET-qualified candidates to join higher education institutions as Assistant Professors in Rajasthan.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks in the concerned subject.
- NET/SET/SLET qualified or Ph.D. as per UGC norms (NET exemption for Ph.D. holders).
Age Limit:
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 40 years (as on 1 July 2025)
- Age relaxation applicable as per government rules.
Application Fee
- General/OBC/EWS: ₹600
- SC/ST/PwD: ₹400
Selection Process
The recruitment process involves two stages:
- Written Examination
- Interview
Exam Pattern
The written examination consists of three papers, all in objective MCQ format.

Paper I and II – Subject-Specific Syllabus
These papers are based on the subject chosen by the candidate (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, History, Political Science, Commerce, etc.). The syllabus includes both basic and advanced concepts taught at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is essential to follow the university curriculum and reference standard textbooks to prepare effectively.
Paper III – General Studies of Rajasthan (GSRJ)
This paper tests the candidate’s knowledge of the culture, history, geography, and political structure of Rajasthan.

- Ancient civilizations and archaeological sites in Rajasthan (Bagor, Nimbahera, Mandia).
- Role of saints and religious reformers: Mira Bai, Dadu Dayal, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, Ramdevji, Gogaji, Tejaji.
- Folk traditions, paintings, music, dance forms, festivals, and crafts.
- Freedom Movement and Political Awakening:
- Contribution of Rajasthan in the Revolt of 1857.
- Tribal uprisings and peasant movements.
- Prajamandal movements and political integration.
- Women’s role in socio-political reforms.
- Language and Literature:
- Origin and development of Rajasthani language.
- Dialects and scripts (Devanagari and Mundari).
- Literary figures and contributions.
- Geography and Economy:
- Physical features: Aravalli, desert, rivers, and soil types.
- Agriculture: major crops, irrigation systems, and land use.
- Economy: MSMEs, RIICO, SEZs, cottage industries, trade, and exports.
- Livestock, dairy development, and conservation efforts.
- Administrative Structure and Governance:
- State’s constitutional framework and functioning of executive, legislative, and judiciary.
- Role of RPSC, State Election Commission, Human Rights Commission.
- Panchayati Raj institutions and urban local governance.
- Current Affairs:
- Recent developments in state schemes, infrastructure, education, health, environment, and sports.
Interview
Candidates shortlisted from the written exam will be called for an interview. This round tests:
- Subject knowledge and depth of understanding.
- Communication and teaching skills.
- General awareness about current issues.
- Confidence and clarity of expression.
Salary Structure
- Pay Scale: ₹15,600–₹39,100 with AGP ₹6,000 (as per 6th CPC)
- In-hand Salary (Approx.): ₹57,700 to ₹67,000 after allowances
- Includes DA, HRA, TA, and other benefits
